Charitable Foundation

Its about giving back

Central to the drive of DKLN is our commitment to "actively" support the St. James's Place Foundation.  Through the Foundation, we are able to give back to those less fortunate.

Giving is a crucial aspect of our personalities; as adults, it is a natural instinct to give to our children.  And we advocate the more you give, the more you receive.  It's a rewarding and enlightening experience and we encourage you to not think too long and hard about what you and your business can do.

Also, by encouraging your staff to participate and take an active charitable role can have a dramatic affect on morale and staff retention by helping them experience the rewards of giving back too.

Dare to Dream Ball

dare2dream200.jpgThe Dare to Dream Foundation Ball recently held at Old Billingsgate in London has raised more than a staggering £500,000 with matching.  Partners, clients, staff and sponsors enjoyed a night of wonderful music, fine food and wine as well as a touch of glitz and glamour.  The Dare to Dream Ball is the Foundation’s largest ever fundraising event and is a fantastic example of what can be achieved by the St. James's Place Community in a single evening.

The whole event really was awe inspiring and the venue was beautifully dressed to add a touch of mystical magic. Live music from a number of exceptional artists entertained nearly 1,000 people with a contemporary mixture of classical and gospel music.

The Dare to Dream Ball was a Partner-lead event, created by David Moran and Lesley Belcher, Principal and Senior performers.jpgPartners respectively from the City Location as well as Patricia Moran and Tracy Leach from Icon Interiors.  To ensure the Ball’s success the four have worked tirelessly for the last six months and have sacrificed hundreds of hours of their own time to make it happen.

The success of the event is testament to their single-minded determination and passion for the work of the Foundation and the hundreds of charities supported.  The Ball could not have happened without the support we also received from the sponsors of the event, Invesco Perpetual, Shroders, THS Partners, Stamford Associates, Jupiter Group, Invista Real Estate Investment Management and Prudential.

The event promises to be a regular part of our calendar as well as a key fundraiser for the Foundation in the future. A big thank you to all those who have contributed, whether you donated an auction prize, bid in the auction or attended the event.

At Hope and Homes for Children we believe that, above all else, every child should grow up within a caring family.

We move children out of institutions into family-based care, help keep together families at risk of breakdown – due to the pressures of poverty, disease or conflict – and work to prevent child abandonment.

CIDA

CIDA-logo220.jpg

CIDA students come from underprivileged backgrounds across South Africa, but it's only economics holding them back from becoming the future leaders of their nation. CIDA is about enabling them to realise their potential.

CIDA was set up to offer them a chance, with the first virtually free higher education institution in South Africa.
